Product Detail

Snow Lotus, are very popular in Europe and recommended by Gansu Zhongchuan Peony Nursery under English name of Xue Lian, is a Chinese tree peony. It is a majestic plant for a special garden having enough space to show it at its best.
The plant has round tip bud, round petals, 17cm×9cm corolla, texture hard in quality, 17cm × 4cm flower diameter, pedicel slightly longer than the hard, straight early blossoming flower. Flowers are white with dark maroon- purple flares at the petal base in the lotus form and are held well above the foliage. They also have a dense, sweet fragrance. This tree peony has characters of cold resistant, drought resistant, salinity, strong vitality, simple cultivation, fewer pests and diseases, and high survival rate.

All rockii hybrids are vigorous and tall growing, and extremely floriferous. Expect these plants to grow to 5 ft. tall and 4 ft. wide by their 10th year (3 yrs. or so after planting).

This perennial is a cultivar of the tree peony commonly known in the U.S. as "Joseph Rock". It is named for the botanist who first brought seeds of this type of peony from northwest China GanSu province to America early in the 20th century. The Chinese grow more than 100 variations of white rockii tree peonies. This particular one, known as "SnowLotus", is very fast growing and extremely hardy.
